Shawn J. Hughes serves on an Of Counsel basis with the Law Offices of Stephen M. Hughes, P.C. Attorney Hughes takes an aggressive but yet compassionate approach to the practice of law. He brings a unique perspective to his practice by drawing upon his extensive experience in law enforcement.
Mr. Hughes proudly served in the United States Marine Corps as a combat veteran of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. After his military service, Mr. Hughes attended the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glenco, Georgia where he was instructed in such areas as Immigration Law and Federal Law.
Upon his graduation, he worked for the United States Justice Department, Immigration Naturalization Service specializing in deportation matters.
Early in 1994, Mr. Hughes was appointed as a municipal Police Officer and several months later graduated from the Massachusetts Criminal Justice Training Council Academy.
While at the academy, Mr. Hughes was instructed in such areas as Massachusetts and Federal Criminal Procedure, State and Federal Constitutional Law, Motor Vehicle Law, Motor Vehicle Accident Investigations, and Court Preparation and Testimony.
He has also received certificates from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Basic Narcotic School and Advanced Traffic Investigation School.
